I feel like today was pretty productive...yet I did no homework. Probably not a good idea, but I saw a lot of London. I slept in until 9 this morning, so nice! I ran to the gym a couple of blocks down so I could have a happy morning, and right afterwards I went to a little cafe to have toast and eggs. I tried to find some new jeans today since my other ones are no longer functional...but no luck.
Sarah, Alyssa and I went to the London Eye tonight. It took us an hour and a half to get there because the tube line we needed was closed and we took the right bus the wrong direction. We sprinted for about...a mile (no idea how far actually...) and looked like idiots, but our tickets had a scheduled time, or so we thought, and we were late! We got to the ticket office and found out we could've gone any time during the day, oh well! We got to experience the 4D show, complete with these glasses...I felt so cool.
Our timing couldn't have been better, we were on the Eye right as the sun was setting. It was so magnificent! I fell in love with Big Ben more today. I realized how big London was...there was city as far as you could see, never ending! Seeing the sunset made me realize how much I miss seeing the open sky. I've been surrounded by city and its tall buildings for the past two months, and seeing the orange sky without anything to obscure it made my heart happy.
Oh what a pretty view. I don't know what else to say with this caption...I love the River Thames.
We had a nice man who was in the same glass bubble as us take this picture. Just in case you wanted to know. Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament look so small, but that's just an optical illusion!
I just had to put this picture in so I have proof that my hair is officially long (I think it is at least) I want to grow it out, but at the same time I want to chop it again. What a dilemma.
I'm so happy we ended up going on the Eye. The lights are...spectacular! (I used a word other than cool, awesome or wonderful for once. I need to expand my vocabulary.)
We were exhausted and starving by the time we got off of the Eye, and tubes were shut down thanks to weekend closures so we walked to a tube stop nearby and trekked to Covent Gardens in search of...Gourmet Burger Kitchen. We didn't find it, but we DID find Bella Italia so we ate there...I'm getting my fill of restaurants here. I won't ever need to eat out again for my entire life. Nor do I think I'll want to. I was so hungry anything sounded good. Me and Sarah had a breakdown since we'd been walking, more like wandering aimlessly, around all day so we got gelato. The people who work at Gelato Mio are so funny and love to give us testers of every flavor. They gave me two stamps on my card so I only have to get eight more until one's free!
I've never eaten so much junk in my life. That's the thing about not having a kitchen to cook your own food in. You have to find things to eat outside of the place you live. Plus your friends are a bad influence. I know mine are. I'll be getting back to my normal habits when I'm home. That'll be a good thing.
awww, love those pictures. So cute :) We miss you :)
